Spring is on the way

Spring is almost here and new performances, recordings, and classes are blooming. At Mercer, my Theory 1 class is underway using a new textbook and redesigned order of instruction to better prepare our students for their four year programs. It has been exciting and fun to work with the new material and watch these kids "get it". I have also begun leading an improvisation ensemble at the college and brought in a guest lecturer/performer to help get the ball rolling. The students played great and we will have a ball exploring new sounds for the rest of the semester. Open to all instruments and abilities, just have to be a Mercer student. Live performances have already included some great listening room shows in NYC, Easton, and Princeton. Plenty of background jobs, and weddings already in play. This past weekend I was fortunate enough to back up one of my favorite singers, Darrell Nulisch, for two sets at the Blast Furnace Blues Fest in Bethlehem, PA. If you don't know Darrell's voice, you need to. Studio dates have been booking up with a lot of interesting and diverse music happening this spring and summer. Should be a great time, come join us.
